A year later the change from sail to machine drive took place and in 1895 the company bought its first steamship, the Uto , a 2650 DWT cargo steamer with a triple expansion steam engine with 530 hp. In 1936 the company changed its name to Tschudi & Eitzen . In 1990 the Danish company Skou International was bought, which started the entry into the bulk cargo segment. With the takeover of the shipping division EAC Shipping from Det Østasiatiske Kompagni by Tschudi & Eitzen Bulkers in 1997 and the acquisition of the company KIL Shipping in 2001, the company entered the tanker sector.
In 2003 the two owners Felix H. Tschudi and Axel C. Eitzen decided to split the Tschudi & Eitzen Group into two separate companies. The part remaining with Axel C. Eitzen was again named Camillo Eitzen & Co and was listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange in 2004, at the same time the Eitzen Holding was founded, owned by the Eitzen family. In the same year Navale Française and the Bergesen 's IGLU gas fleet were acquired, further acquisitions of companies followed. In 2006 Eitzen Chemical and Eitzen Maritime Services were founded.
