With an annual production of around 500,000 electric submersible waste water pumps, Tsurumi is one of the largest manufacturers in the industry. In the construction industry, Tsurumi is considered a world leader.

Tsurumi has specialized exclusively in the development, manufacture and sale of water pumps since 1924. The company Tsurumi Manufacturing Co., Ltd. based in Osaka , employed 863 people in the 2011 financial year and achieved sales of around 254 million euros. history

1924 started the production of irrigation pumps of the mechanical engineering department of the company at that time Tsurumi Shōkai ( 鶴 見 Handels , "Trading House Tsurumi"). On February 12, 1948, the Tsurumi Seisakusho was founded, which on December 24, 1951 took the legal form of a kabushiki-gaisha . In 1954 the production of submersible water pumps started. 1970 saw the opening of the branch in Taipei, Taiwan, and in 1976 the branch H&E Tsurumi Pump Co. Ltd. in Hong Kong, China, 1978 of the Tsurumi (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. In Singapore, 1979 the branch Tsurumi (America) Inc. in Chicago, USA and 1983 the branch Tsurumi (Europe) GmbH in Düsseldorf. In 1990 the company went public in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan. In 1994 the production facility was opened in Kyoto, Japan. 1997 was the inauguration of the new company headquarters in Osaka, Japan. 1997 saw the opening of the manufacturing facility in Taipei, Taiwan and 2002 the manufacturing facility in Shanghai, China.

Products

The delivery program includes around 1800 different pump models with motor outputs from 150 W to 400 kW. In Europe, Tsurumi sells around 250 models with an engine output of up to 110 kW.

The range includes electric submersible pumps as well as non-submersible pumps with electric or combustion engines. Electric submersible aerators are a special design for introducing air for biological water clarification. These enable more cost-effective wastewater treatment compared to conventional methods.

Most of the Tsurumi pumps are manufactured in Kyōto in one of the most modern and, according to the company, the world's largest pump factory with an annual capacity of one million pumps.

The pumps differ from various competitive models in a number of constructive features. In this way, all the usual maintenance work can be carried out by the user himself in a short time with simple tools without any special prior knowledge. A typical feature of most of the pump series is their modular design with some of the components that can be interchanged. As a special feature, Tsurumi installs an oil distributor that works through centrifugal force (patented in-house development), which ensures that the shaft bearings are always adequately lubricated in every situation and the pump is safe to run dry. The internal double mechanical seal as well as individually encapsulated electrical conductors to protect against water leakage are further design features . Tsurumi pumps are designed in such a way that they can be kept in continuous operation far away from service points.

Sales and Service

Tsurumi sells its products in 45 countries and almost exclusively through specialist dealers. Individual projects (usually major customers) are also acquired and managed directly from the branches. In doing so, Tsurumi avoids getting into a competitive situation with his dealers. The dealer network in Germany includes around 250 sales and service points. The spare parts supply for Europe is concentrated in Düsseldorf.
