Tullverket

Tullverket is the national Swedish customs authority established in 1636. The agency has 2000 employees and its headquarters are in Stockholm . Tullverket's responsibilities include customs clearance and taxation of imported goods, as well as ensuring compliance with import regulations and fighting crime. At the same time, Tullverket aims to facilitate trade in goods within the European Union. The tasks of Tullverket are determined by a government regulation. Tullverket's responsibilities also include lectures on narcotics with the aim of countering the illegal use of narcotics. The employees of Tullverket are also authorized to carry out alcohol checks on incoming drivers.

In 2014, Tullverket's income was 58.8 billion crowns (approx. 5.8 billion euros) in customs duties, taxes (mainly VAT) and various fees. There were 6450 seizures of narcotics and doping drugs; to this end, 90,000 checks were carried out on the transport of goods and people entering the country. A total of 70,000 liters of spirits, 51,000 liters of wine, 430,000 liters of beer and 47 million cigarettes were confiscated in 2014. In addition, 115 firearms could be seized. At the same time, 6 million import declarations were processed.
