The tournament organization and information system (TORIS) of the German Equestrian Association (FN) is mainly used for processing entries at equestrian tournaments . The program is being developed by the FN and the DUW SH company and was used at 3,536 events in 2014.

Functions

The essential functions of TORIS include:

  • Import of the entries from the FN NeOn online entry portal
  • Administration of participant data
  • Management of horse data
  • Allocation of participants and their horses to certain tests
  • Creation of the starting lists
  • Creation of the result lists
  • Management of finances
  • Administration of tournament professionals
  • Export of participant and horse data
  • Feedback of the results to the German Equestrian Association

Entries processing process

Preparation of the event

In the run-up to an equestrian tournament, participants register via the FN's online portal NnungOnline . You can choose which horses should be registered for which test. This data is sent to the tournament administrator after registration and he can decide whether to accept or reject the registration, for example if the participant is not authorized to register for a certain test. After the registration period has expired, the tournament administrator can download the data of all tournament participants and import them into TORIS. Since the beginning of 2013, performance tests (LP ) can only be named online via FN NeOn in accordance with the performance test regulations (LPO) of the German Equestrian Association (FN). However, according to the FN competition regulations (WBO), competitions can still be named on a paper entry form, so that the tournament administrator has to manually enter some of this data into the system after importing the participant and horse data from FN NeOn.

Tasks during the event

During the event, the registration office, which takes on the administrative tasks during the equestrian tournament and usually also the tournament administration, must accept the start reports (usually on the phone) and note them in TORIS. When the deadline for starting a test has expired, the registration office creates a starting list for the corresponding test, on which the participants and spectators are provided with a variety of information, such as the names of the participants and their horses, the starting order and possible starting times and also the names of the judges. All lists are generated in TORIS using Crystal Reports . After the end of an examination, the registration office begins to enter the results of this examination in TORIS and then creates a list of results from which the examination winner and all placed and unplaced participants can be found. The registration office is also responsible for paying out any cash prizes to the participants. The billing of a participant account is also carried out by TORIS. The remuneration of the tournament experts, for example the judges, is part of the duties of the registration office and can also be done in TORIS.

Follow-up to the event

After the end of an equestrian tournament, the tournament administrator is responsible for reporting the results of the previous equestrian tournament to the FN. For this purpose, TORIS can be used to create a file that contains all the data relevant for the FN and is sent back to the FN. It is also possible to publish the results on the online portal FN success data from FN Verlag during the event . TORIS offers an automated uploader for this, which loads the data onto the portal via FTP .
