UFIP

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ufip cymbals are high-quality, ear-created drum cymbals made in Italy ( Pistoia , Toscana ) . This means that the individual cymbals are made manually under constant control of a trained ear. The name UFIP is an acronym and is composed as follows: SA U nione F abbricanti I taliani P iatti Musicali e Tam Tams .

UFIP is the only manufacturer in the world to use the Rotocasting® process to manufacture the cymbals. The liquid B20 alloy is poured into a rotating mold. As a result, the blank already has a bell, it does not have to be punched or hammered as with other processes. In addition to the rotocasting series (Class, Class Brilliant, Bionic, Extatic, Experience, Rough, Natural), cymbals made of sheet bronze (Supernova, Tiger) and brass (M8) are available. These cymbals are also hammered and turned by hand.

The cymbals of the Natural series have a particularly pure and clear, high-pitched sound, which also has a very interesting appearance due to their matt, unpolished design.

Well-known orchestras such as the Scala in Milan, the Metropolitan Opera House in New York and the London Symphony Orchestra have been equipped with UFIP cymbals.
