UNCIP

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

UNCIP stands for the “United Nations Commission for India and Pakistan”, a United Nations observer mission that has been monitoring the situation in Kashmir since 1948 . UN Resolution 47 of 1948 expanded the mission through the use of military observers. In particular, they monitored the established demarcation line , the Line of Control (LOC).

On March 30, 1951, the UNCIP was replaced by UN Resolution 91 by the United Nations Military Observer Group ( UNMOGIP ), which has since monitored the ceasefire between Pakistan and India in Kashmir .
