USS Belleau Wood
Two ships of the United States Navy were named USS Belleau Wood after the battle in Belleau Forest near Chateau Thierry in France, the scene of a fierce battle between the US Marines and German soldiers during World War I.
- The first Belleau Wood (CVL-24) was a light aircraft carrier resulting from a conversion of a cruiser, it did service in World War II; later in the French Navy as Bois Belleau .
- The second Belleau Wood (LHA-3) was a Tarawa-class amphibious dropship , in active service with the US Navy from 1978 to 2005.
