Two ships of the United States Navy were named USS Blueback , after a form of rainbow trout :

USS Blueback (SS-326) , a Balao-class submarine , in service from 1944 to 1948, then sold to Turkey
USS Blueback (SS-581) , a Barbel-class submarine , in service from 1959 to 1990
