Ubuntu Foundation

The Ubuntu Foundation is a foundation founded by Mark Shuttleworth and Canonical on July 1, 2005 with a capital of 10 million US dollars. The reason was the announcement of extended support for Ubuntu .

The foundation on the Isle of Man is intended to ensure long-term support and for the time being only accept donations with which it supports previous workers. A foundation's statutes and balance sheets are kept confidential in the Isle of Man. The foundation was originally supposed to have a good half a dozen programmers .
