Elm splint beetle
With the term elm bark beetle to different types of referred to the subfamily of bark beetles belonging to the genus of Splintkäfer ( Scolytus ) attached elm live. They are known to be the vector of the tube fungus Ophiostoma novo-ulmi , which causes Dutch elm disease in Europe.
Often the "elm splint beetle" refers to the large elm splint beetle , the most common of these species in Central Europe. In some areas, however, the common elm beetle can also be strongly represented.
