Ultraman is a manga by the Japanese author Eiichi Shimizu and the illustrator Tomohiro Shimoguchi , which has been published in Japan since 2011. The work is based on the 1966 television series Ultraman , the story of which it continues, and falls into the genres of science fiction and action.

Ultraman's fight against the alien attackers around Zetton was a few years ago and not only the aliens but also Ultraman and the Science Special Search Party have disappeared. Shin Hayata's memory was stolen, so that he no longer knows that he was Ultraman either. But his son Shinjiro inherited his powers, Hayata notices that too. One day the Science Special Search Party reveals itself to Hayata and his memories return. Because the earth is being attacked again and Ultraman's strength is needed. Finally, Shinjiro is now also to be recruited. He noticed his great powers, but so far he has kept them a secret. Now he gets his own Ultraman suit from the Science Special Search Party and is supposed to fight the aliens.

The publishing house Shogakukan has been publishing the series in Monthly Hero's magazine since its first edition on November 1, 2011 (12/2011 issue) and has also published the chapters in ten anthologies so far ( Tankōbon ). Volume 10 sold over 50,000 copies in the first two weeks after it was published. Together with the 8th volume, a partially animated and spoken version of individual chapters appeared as a "motion comic" adaptation.

A German publication has been published by Tokyopop since August 2017, with five volumes so far. The series is published in English by Viz Media and in French by Kurokawa .
