Converter (radio technology)
In broadcast technology, a converter or redirection transmitter is a transmitter that is supplied with the program signal to be broadcast by receiving a ball . It receives the signal from another transmitter, converts it to its own transmission frequency without demodulation , amplifies it and sends it out again. The most common application is the television converter or TV converter (TVU).
A passive directional radio redirection can enable a radio link without power supply and frequency conversion if this is not possible in a direct way due to an obstacle in the signal path.
Filling transmitters are often operated as converters, and less often basic network transmitters.
