Unger from Posen

Unger was Bishop of Posen from 992 to 1012.

Life

Unger's origin is unknown. He was probably abbot in the Memleben monastery until 992. In the year 1000 he was Bishop of Posen and was present at the Gnesen Act . The diocese of Posen was not subordinated to the new Archdiocese of Gniezno . In 1004 he was arrested on a trip to Rome .

Unger probably died outside Poland on June 9, 1012.
