The Unión Patriótica (UP) is a socialist party in Colombia , which emerged in 1985 from the political arm of the guerrilla organization FARC-EP and the Partido Comunista Colombiano (PCC).

After initial successes at the local level, the party was exposed to years of repression and violence by armed government forces as well as drug cartels. After a total of around 3000 members of the UP had been murdered by 1988, the party disappeared into political insignificance. In 2002 her status as a party was revoked.

It was not until 2013 that she was allowed to vote again.

The Corporación Reiniciar is committed to the compensation and rehabilitation of victims and supports their relatives legally and psychologically.
