Unified Theory was an American band . The alternative rock group existed between 1998 and 2001.

history

After the death of the blind melon singer Shannon Hoon , the band broke up. Bassist Brad Smith and guitarist Christopher Thorn decided to carry on and founded a new group with drummer Dave Krusen and singer Chris Shinn in 1998, which was initially called Luma . Under this name, the band published their first tracks on the band's homepage in 1999. When the band was signed by Universal's subsidiary 3:33 towards the end of the year , they named themselves Unified Theory . The debut album was released under this title in August 2000, after which the band toured until March 2001.

After the work on a successor stalled, Krusen decided to leave the band. Then Smith and Thorn joined forces with the other former band members of Blind Melon and revived the band with Smith as the singer.
