The Union fédérale des consommateurs ( UFC ) is the largest French consumer organization , based in Paris , which studies and compares goods and services from different providers.

The organization's task is to inform consumers about their purchase decisions and to advise them independently as well as to educate them about consumer rights.

The financing is mainly done through the contributions of the members. There is no commercial advertising in the publications, which include the monthly Que choisir .

The Union fédérale des consommateurs has been a member of Consumers International since 1960 , participates in international comparative product tests as part of the umbrella organization International Consumer Research & Testing (ICRT) and also cooperates with the German Stiftung Warentest .
