Union certification mark

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Union certification marks are marks at EU level. The introduction of EU certification marks began with the trademark reform package of January 2016 of the current European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). The new EU trademark regulation has been in force since October 1, 2017.

Union certification marks mean that the goods and services under a brand meet a certain quality standard, which is set out in the statutes of the certification mark and compliance with which by a third party - e.g. B. an association that grants permission for use - is controlled.

The prerequisite for registering a certification mark is that the applicant submits the certification mark's articles of association within two months of the filing date.
