The company UNIPETROL DOPRAVA, sro (VKM: UNIDO ) is the third largest Czech freight transport company in rail transport and also offers the rental of tank wagons. In addition, it operates a steaming and cleaning station for boilers and repairs rail vehicles in its workshops. The company was established in 1995, but at that time under the name CHEMOPETROL - DOPRAVA as The name at that time characterizes the development of the company: it was the outsourcing of the railway operations on the siding of the Chemopetrol chemical works in Litvínov.
Initially, the company only dealt with the operation on the siding in Litvínov, but in connection with the integration of Chemopetrol into the UNIPETROL group, the company gradually began to take over the operation of further siding of chemical plants within this group. The company currently serves sidings in Litvínov, Kralupy nad Vltavou, Neratovice, Pardubice, Semtín and Kolín. In 2003 the company got its current name.
Operation on the SŽDC network
At present, Unipetrol Doprava is not only operating sidings, but also dealing with rail freight traffic on the SŽDC routes. It is primarily about the transport of chemical products between the individual companies of the UNIPETROL group, but in cooperation with foreign transport companies it also operates several international routes to all surrounding countries.
Locomotive park
The basis for the locomotive fleet for route service was - as with the other private transport companies in the Czech Republic - locomotives of the 740 series, or 770 and 771. However, the company sold the 770 and 771 locomotives and expanded the fleet of Mainline locomotives gradually by 8 locomotives of the 753.7 series. The transport company operates modernized 121 series locomotives.
In the sidings of this company we also find locomotives of the 740 series or locomotives that were created through their modernization (724.6, 724.7 and 744.7). Then there were also locomotives of the 711 series (conversion of the 710 series) and 729.6. On the siding in Litvínov we can then encounter two locomotives of the 717 series (diesel-hydraulic locomotives in explosion-proof design - type DHG 700 C, which was built in the Thyssen Henschel locomotive works in Kassel) and a series 820 diesel multiple unit that has been converted into a workshop car. In Kralupy nad Vltavou the locomotives 709.5 are operated with double controls.
In 2010, the transport company had 6 locomotives 740 modernized to the 741.5 series.
In 2015 Unipetrol Doprava rented the TRAXX D-Rpool 186.432 locomotive on a trial basis.
In April 2017, Unipetrol Doprava bought three Vectron MS modular multi-system locomotives from Siemens. In 2017, the company also bought two EffiLiner 1600 locomotives from CZ LOKO, which are marked with the 753.6 series, specifically the 753.606 and 753.607 locomotives.
