The United Arab Emirates University ( German  University of the United Arab Emirates ; Arabic جامعة الإمارات العربية المتحدة, DMG Ǧāmiʿat Daulat al-Imārāt al-ʿArabīya al-Muttaḥida ) was founded in 1976 by Sheikh Zayid bin Sultan Al Nahyan and is the oldest of the three public universities in the United Arab Emirates along with the Zayed University and the Higher Colleges of Technology . The university is located in al-Ain .
