United States Congress Joint Economic Committee

The Joint Economic Committee is a joint committee of the US Congress . It has ten members of the Senate and ten members of the House of Representatives , whose task it is to provide information about the economic situation in the United States and to formulate suggestions for improvement.

The committee was formed after the Great Depression and World War II together with the Council of Economic Advisers as part of the Employment Act . The committee has neither legislative functions nor sub-committees.
