The Universal UAV (spelling UNIVERSAL UAV) is a civil unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) made by the German manufacturer SI Schweitzer Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH . The aircraft was shown to the public for the first time at the 2013 Paris Air Show.

history

The Universal UAV is the first UAV developed by the SI Schweitzer Ingenieurgesellschaft. The original design provided for a use for forest fire observation, but quickly developed into a versatile civilian reconnaissance and observation platform. After three years of development, the first prototype was presented at the 50th Paris Air Show 2013 in Le Bourget.

The UAV has two engines with a pull and a push propeller (push-pull configuration). A conventional retractable landing gear is available for take-off and landing, which enables the operation of airfields as well as paved roads. Various electronic, infrared or optical sensors, e.g. B. in the form of a gimbal camera.
