The Technical University of Babol Noshirvani ( Persian دانشگاه صنعتی نوشیروانی بابل) is a technical university in Babol , a city in Mazandaran Province in northern Iran , 20 km south of the Caspian Sea .
history
The Iranian philanthropist Hossein Falah Noshirvani founded a technical college in Babol in 1970 . In 1972 a Higher Technical Teacher Training Institute was set up, at which selected students are trained as teachers for technical professions. In 1979 the school became part of Mazandaran University by decision of the National University Commission . Since 2005, the university has increasingly strived for an independent existence. It has been operating as an independent university since 2008.
