The University of N'Djamena ( Arabic جامعة انجامينا, French Université de N'Djamena ) is the only university in Chad .
It was founded in 1971 as the University of Chad and renamed the University of N'Djamena in 1994 . During the civil war from 1979 to 1983, teaching at the university was interrupted. Originally conceived for only 700 students, today around 8000 students are trained there.
The university is a member of the International Association of Universities .
