The University of Nablus ( Arabic جامعة النجاح الوطنية, DMG Ǧāmiʿat an-Naǧāḥ al-waṭanīya ; also: an-Najah National University ) is a Palestinian university in Nablus . The university was founded in 1977 and dates back to an educational institution of the same name from 1918.
The University of Nablus is a non-governmental, public institution run by a board of trustees. It has 12 faculties with 19,000 students enrolled in 2010. With 3,000 employees, it is the largest university in the Palestinian Territories .
history
The facility was founded as a school in 1918 and expanded to become a college in 1941. In 1965 a teacher training seminar was established and in 1977 it gained university status.
