The University of Northeast China ( Chinese 東北 大學 / 东北 大学 , Pinyin Dōngběi Dàxué ), known in the English-speaking world as Northeastern University, NEW , is a Chinese university in Shenyang .
history
The planning and construction work for the university was directed in 1921 and 1922 by the Austrian architect Rolf Geyling , who lives in Tientsin . It was founded in 1923.
It had over 20,000 students in 2011. The university was funded under Project 211 and Project 985 .
