Göttingen University Press

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Universitätsverlag Göttingen was founded in 2003 and today publishes up to 60 new publications from all disciplines per year. Most of the titles are published in hybrid form, i.e. as a paid print version - available from bookshops - and at the same time as text-identical electronic publication that is freely available as an open access version on the Internet. The digital versions are accessible via the institutional repository GOEDOC of the Lower Saxony State and University Library . The publishing house is controlled by an editorial board made up of representatives from all faculties. The members of the editorial board are also responsible for assessing the titles that appear in the "University Press" section. The university publisher also makes these titles accessible via the university's GoeScholar repository. The OAPEN Library has been online since October 2010 and is currently the largest European collection of reviewed open access monographs. The focus of this collection is on the humanities, society and social sciences. Universitätsverlag is a member of the University Publishers' Working Group and the Association of European University Presses .
