University College in Denmark

University colleges (Danish "Professionshøjskole", also "Berufshochschule") are tertiary educational institutions with higher education status in Denmark below the university level. Approximately 70,000 students specialize in engineering, social affairs, nursing, and education at the ten university colleges nationwide. The courses, including internships, last three to four and a half years and are application-oriented. There are the following university colleges:

  • Metropolitan University College (Metropol)
  • University College Capital
  • University College North Jutland
  • University College West
  • University College Little Belt
  • University College Zealand
  • University College South
  • VIA University College
