Immaturity

The term underage denotes either a state of not being of age (see maturity (philosophy) ) or the legal status of a person who, for reasons of age, does not have full legal capacity and responsibility in private or criminal law . The legal definition and details are nationally regulated differently. The philosopher Immanuel Kant defined immaturity as “the inability to use one's mind without the guidance of another”.

Germany

In Germany, a person under a guardianship who is looked after by a guardian or the youth welfare office is called a ward . The guardian of managed and absolutely safe to be applied cash balance of the ward is the trust fund .

Austria

In Austria, all persons who have not yet reached the age of 14 are considered to be minors.

As soon as you have reached the age of 14, you are considered to be of age. Responsible minors are people who have already reached the age of 14 and have not yet reached the age of 18.

For people who have already reached the age of 18, no designation is used in connection with the age of majority - they are considered to be of legal age.

This is stipulated in Section 21 of the General Civil Code , Section 1 of the Youth Courts Act and Section 74 of the Criminal Code .

Switzerland

A minor is a person who has not yet reached the age of 18.
