Company Wiesengrund

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The company Wiesengrund was the cover name for a German landing company planned during World War II on the fishing peninsula in the North Sea held by Soviet troops .

The aim was to eliminate these Soviet positions lying directly in front of the German lines of the northern sea front in order to avoid a Soviet breakout behind the German main front line. For this purpose, a staff for planning the landing company was set up in March 1942. The company planned in March 1942 was repeatedly postponed and completely abandoned in 1944.
