Urethrocystocele

A Urethrozystozele or Cystourethrocele designates the descent of the anterior vaginal wall when it also urethra (urethral) and bladder are affected (both located anteriorly of the vaginal wall). If only the bladder is affected, it is called a cystocele .

The cause is an insufficiency (weakness) of the holding apparatus (e.g. ligamenta pubourethralia ).

A urethrocystocele can be responsible for causing urinary incontinence . The therapy is usually performed surgically.
