The origin of technology is a British television series from 2003, 2005 and 2007-2009, which was first broadcast in the German version in 2006 on the History Channel .

In each episode, the series tells the story of the origin of something, for example when it was really first drilled for oil , namely not in the second half of the 19th century, but 2000 years ago. The startling origins of modern technology are not as new as they seem.
