Karl-Heinz Fuhrmann

Karl-Heinz Fuhrmann (born May 18, 1937 in Recklingen ) is a former rider from the GDR who competed with the all-German Olympic team at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo and with the GDR team at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City .

Karl-Heinz Fuhrmann from ASK Vorwärts Berlin was a GDR military champion in 1961 and 1962 . In 1964 he qualified together with Gerhard Schulz from the GDR and the German riders Fritz Ligges and Horst Karsten for the all-German team at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. In Tokyo, Fuhrmann on Mohamet took 25th place in the individual military ranking. In the team classification, Ligges (3rd in the individual classification), Karsten (6th in the individual classification) and Schulz (20th in the individual classification) won the bronze medal behind the Italians and the US team. Fuhrmann was not included in the ranking and as a substitute he did not receive a medal according to the rules that were valid until 1980.

In 1968 in Mexico City, Fuhrmann again took 25th place in the individual military ranking on Saturn , and with the best result of the GDR team, he contributed to seventh place in the overall ranking. In 1969 Fuhrmann, meanwhile starting for SC Dynamo Hoppegarten , won his third GDR championship title.
