Ur-Sudan

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Original Sudanese or Proto-Sudanese is an original Sudanese language reconstructed by Diedrich Westermann in 1911 . It includes the common words of the Sudan languages, 380 lexemes . The "original form of the word, which is called Ur-Sudan", determined Westermann, by "determining the prefixes , ins- and suffixes attached to the word and separating them from the actual stem ". Westermann described the Ur-Sudan as a hypothetical construction with the aim of reconstructing the original sounds.
