Ursula Georgy

Ursula Georgy (* 1958 in Cologne ) has been professor for information marketing at the TH Köln since 2000 (until August 31, 2015 Cologne University of Applied Sciences), faculty for information and communication sciences.

Life

Georgy studied chemistry from 1977 to 1983 and received his doctorate in this subject in 1986. From 1987 to 2000 she was managing director and from 1987 to 2007 partner of the scientific information service - WIND GmbH. From 1996 to 2000 she had lectureships at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences and the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences. From 2001 to 2006 she was dean and from 2006 to 2009 prorector for teaching, studies and study reform at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences. Since September 2011 she has been head of the ZBIW - Center for Library and Information Science Further Education at the Institute for Information Science at the TH Köln.

She was u. a. Member of the advisory board of the German Institute for Medical Documentation and Information - DIMDI (2009-2019), member of the foundation board of ZB MED - Information Center Life Sciences (2014-2018), the "Customer-Oriented Services" commission of the dbv (2014-2018), the advisory board Information and library of the Goethe Institute (2007–2013), the advisory board of the EconBiz virtual specialist library (2006–2012) and the Board of Trustees of the German Central Library for Medicine - ZB MED (2011–2013). She was chair of the KIBA (Conference of Information and Library Science Education and Study Programs), Section 7 of the dbv (2004–2013). In addition, she is u. a. Reviewer for the Leibniz Association, AQAS and AQ Austria.

Since 2000 Georgy has been teaching at the TH Köln (formerly Cologne University of Applied Sciences) at the Institute for Information Science Information Marketing. She also held short-term lectureships and teaching positions in Chur (2001), Geneva (2003), Krems (2006 and 2008), Parma (2008–2013, 2016), Shah Alam (Malaysia) in 2013 and Vienna (2020).

Her main research interests are quality management of information services, customer loyalty as well as profile and branding of information institutions, pricing of information services, strategic patent analysis and innovation management, in particular open innovation and crowdsourcing.
