User Friendly (German: " user-friendly ") is a webcomic by JD "Illiad" Frazer . He mainly tells everyday events of the fictional Internet provider Columbia Internet and is primarily aimed at geeks , among whom he has a large fan base. The comic was published almost daily between November 17, 1997 and November 30, 2009. Since December 2009 it has been in the "Random Hiatus" and essentially consists of repetitions of old comic strips.

The comic's humor is primarily technically oriented and is built up as a sequel story in individual episodes. But there are always inserts that satirize / comment on current events (mostly on Sundays). The fan base, called UFies, discusses the daily strip in its own forum, in which the punchline is explained if necessary and the English text is translated into various languages.

The comic appears clearly for open source - software , especially the operating system Linux and the figures make no secret of their dislike of Microsoft .
