Ust-Katawer Kirov waggon (UKWS) ( Russian ФГУП Усть-Катавский вагоностроительный завод имени С. М. Кирова ( УКВЗ )) is a Russian manufacturer of tram vehicles based in Ust-Katav , Chelyabinsk Oblast . UKWS was founded in 1758 as a steel mill. Today the company manufactures trams of the 71-619 type and equipment for the aerospace and natural gas industries. The company is named in honor of the state and party official Sergei Mironowitsch Kirow .
