Uwe Reetz

Uwe Reetz (born August 3, 1977 in Aachen ) is a German musician, producer and songwriter.

Career

Uwe Reetz began training as a sound engineer shortly after graduating from high school and runs his own recording studio in which he also gives music lessons. The multi-instrumentalist plays drums, guitar, bass, keyboard and sings. Reetz worked as a musician and songwriter in various musical projects in the 1990s. In a self-built recording studio in the basement of his parents, he first produced bands from the musical environment, later in his own professional recording studio in Kommern, he also produced bands such as Schreng Schreng & La La or the Cologne punk group Karlsson.

Uwe Reetz became known through his long-standing children's participation program “Uwe and Children”. Since 2003 he has been writing and producing children's music on the initiative of the composer and lyricist Norbert Böll. In the lyrics of his songs he processes, among other things, the learning goals of elementary school. For this he works with various educators who support him with his texts. Uwe Reetz founded his own record company Greenkids Records for this project. The musician was able to sell 10,000 records on his own. The compilation "Meine Hits" was also distributed by Cargo Records . Actress Maike Toussaint has been accompanying him in his live performances and the annual Christmas musicals since 2018 .

Reetz is committed to social projects. He supports the children's cancer aid at the children's clinics in Bonn and Cologne and the Eifel aid group. With the single "Butterfly children fly free" he wrote his own song for the Round Table Germany. Butterfly children have the rare disease epidermolysis bullosa (EB), an incurable genetic defect that makes their skin as vulnerable as butterfly wings. Uwe Reetz, together with the musicians Lasse Paulus (Schreng Schreng & La La) and Oliver Züll (DFT), also positioned himself against racism with the song “Händler” and won the Euskirchen district's “Rap gegen rechts” competition with the song .

Uwe Reetz is married and lives in the Eifel in the Euskirchen district.
