VDI 6011

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The VDI 6011 series of guidelines provides support for lighting planning within buildings. The VDI guidelines contained in it serve to optimize the use of daylight and artificial lighting. A distinction can be made between different approaches such as the visual task, energy efficiency or support of the circadian rhythm of the building users.

In the first paragraph of the introduction, the term good light is discussed. Good light is therefore needed to fulfill a visual task, but also for human well-being, health, motivation and productivity. Daylight is said to be particularly positive for health. In the following, the energy efficiency of lighting in comparison with other VDI guidelines such as VDI 2078 and VDI 6007 is discussed. In summary, it is explained that the VDI 6011 series of guidelines provides an overview of the use of daylight via facades and roof skylights and their combination with artificial lighting using conventional and LED light sources . The selection, planning and dimensioning of lighting is facilitated by energy parameters with optimized use of daylight and efficient artificial lighting, as well as other information. Furthermore, the guideline aims to stimulate research and innovation, e.g. B. in the following areas:

  • Effect of light on people
  • technical and structural developments of components and systems for the use of daylight
  • Interaction of components for daylight use and artificial lighting, building climate and regenerative energy systems
  • Common control and regulation systems with connections to the building automation and other systems of the technical building equipment
