Consumer group industrial lubricants

The Consumer Group Industrial Lubricants (VKIS) is a working group of lubricant and cooling lubricant users from the metalworking industry and experts from research and teaching.

Goal setting

The objectives are exchange of ideas, joint project work, development of generally applicable test methods, representation of the interests of industrial lubricant users in corporations within the framework of the creation and application of laws and sub-statutory regulations.

Members

Members from the group of lubricant consumers can become members if they are willing to actively participate in the activities of the VKIS. Membership is free. Registration for membership takes place via the respective chairperson. There is no remuneration for the work at VKIS.

The participation in the VKIS is voluntary, all expenses are borne directly by the members. The VKIS is not financed by anyone.

Purpose of the working group

On the homepage of the VKIS you can find publications by members of the VKIS on certain topics, be it as a result of a working group or the publication of lectures.

Together with the VSI (Association of the Lubricant Industry), the employers' liability insurance association and, if necessary, the social partners , worksheets, practical guides for KSS users, lists of substances and the like are developed and published.

The VKIS organizes meetings and advanced training events on specific and general topics relating to industrial lubricants (focus: cooling lubricants) at regular intervals.

  • Voting on REACH

When standardizing new, innovative test methods, the participants' experiences are exchanged in the working groups, approaches are discussed, and if necessary, round robin tests are carried out. Successful test procedures are forwarded for standardization (mineral oil standardization technical committee).

history

It was founded in 1977 by employees from various companies, some of which were in competition, in order to exchange ideas and joint development work on the application of lubricants and cooling lubricants. The topics are dealt with in working groups that deal with specific key topics across companies and institutes.
