History and construction

The Viima was a two-seat trainer aircraft operated by the Finnish Air Force. The machine, designed as a double-decker, had seats arranged one behind the other in an open cockpit and was covered with fabric. The tailplane was designed conventionally. In addition, the aircraft had a non-retractable tail wheel landing gear and was powered by a Siemens-Halske-Sh-14 star engine.

20 Viimas were delivered to the Finnish Air Force and were used until the late 1940s; after that, at least 14 copies were used for civilian purposes, several of which were equipped with a closed cockpit.
