Van den Bosch is the name of an originally petty bourgeois family from the Netherlands who were elevated to the rank of count in the 19th century .

The origins of the Van den Bosch family lie in Rotterdam , where they can be found since the second half of the 16th century. Johannes van den Bosch , long-time minister and governor-general of the Dutch East Indies , was appointed baron in 1835 and count in 1839. This title was then carried by the first-born, other family members carried the Jonkheer title . Another member of the family was the Minister of the Colonies, Engelbertus Batavus van den Bosch .
