The Vaba dd banka Varaždin (abbreviation: Vaba Banka ) is a Founded in 1994, Croatian universal bank headquartered in Varazdin . The private bank has a total of eight branches in Croatia and employs more than 140 people.
In June 2014, the majority of Vaba Banka was taken over by the Czech J&T Finance Group , which has since held 76.81% of the company's shares. The J&T Finance Group is active as an investor in various economic sectors, in addition to financial services & banking, also in the energy sector, in health care as well as in the real estate and media industry. The J&T Finance Group portfolio includes the Prague money house J&T Banka .
In 2014, Vaba Banka had total assets equivalent to around 178 million euros (1.35 billion Croatian kuna, HRK). In addition to lending to small and medium-sized companies, the bank particularly focuses on private customer business. In 2014, the money house managed bank deposits of around 125 million euros (942.8 million HRK).
In accordance with EU guidelines, Vaba Banka is a member of the Deposit Protection Fund of the Republic of Croatia (DAB, Državna agencija za osiguranje štednih uloga i sanaciju banaka). The auditing mandate for Vaba Banka is held by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
