The J & T Banka, as is a bank of the Czech-Slovak J & T Finance Group, which among other things, investments in various industries such. B. Financial Services & Banking, and through investment holding J&T Private Equity also holds in energy, healthcare, real estate, media and sports.
Entry into the Czech banking sector took place in Prague in 1998 with the takeover of Podnikatelská banka. At the end of June 2014, total assets equivalent to more than 4.5 billion euros (125 billion Czech crowns) were established, making J&T Banka one of the largest private banks on the Czech market. Further bank branches of the J&T Finance Group are operated in Slovakia, Russia and Croatia. The portfolio also includes the Czech soccer club Sparta Prague .
The bank's operating profit has risen continuously in recent years and amounts to 37.3 million euros (1,030 million Czech crowns) for the first half of 2014, which corresponds to an annual increase of 47% compared to the previous year. For the same period, J&T Banka was able to report a net profit of 33.8 million euros (934 million Czech crowns).
J&T Banka is a member of the Deposit Protection Fund of the Czech Republic (Fond pojištění vkladů), which manages reserves of around EUR 1 billion (as of December 31, 2013).
