Variation (navigation)

With Variation (VAR) is used in the aviation , the local declination (lat. Declination) designated and shipping. It is defined as the deviation between geographic and magnetic north and can be taken from the aeronautical charts. If the VAR is already included in the heading, this course is called a magnetic course (MC). The alignment of the aircraft on this course with additional consideration of the wind is called magnetic heading (MH).
