Variety association

A Varitätenverband is in linguistics an association of linguistic varieties of a language. It is similar to the language group , but only includes closely related varieties of a common umbrella language . A distinction is made between Vollvarietäten , intercom documents and sectoral varieties such as technical languages . The varieties of a variety association may not all be available to the speakers, but these usually master some, from which they select a suitable one based on social, situational, or spatial conditions and contexts.
