history

The company was founded in 1895 as Assurance Mutuelle Vaudoise in the form of a cooperative and was initially only active in the non-life sector. In 1916 Vaudoise expanded its business into German-speaking Switzerland and in 1938 into Ticino . With the establishment of Vaudoise Vie , the company entered the life insurance business.

In the course of a structural reform, the cooperative completely transferred the operational business that had previously been part of it to Vaudoise Assurances Holding SA , founded in 1989 . This is the parent company and financial holding of all operating companies in the Vaudoise Group. The majority shareholder with 67.6 percent of the capital and 91.2 percent of the voting rights is Assurance Mutuelle Vaudoise , which from now on exercises control under stock corporation law, but no longer exercises any operational activities.
