history

In 1997, Raphael Neuburger, founding member and later President of the Vegan Society Switzerland, took over the “vegan.ch” domain. In 2011, Neuburger and five others founded the “Vegan Society Switzerland” association. In the first few years, the focus of the association was mainly on making the arguments for a vegan lifestyle known. The vegan.ch website as well as printed flyers and participation in various events became the most important means. In 2012 the association already had 250 members.

In 2016, the association employed two full-time employees and a management team to further promote the vegan lifestyle. Digital media such as social media , newsletters and the website became more and more important and the channels were therefore expanded and professionally looked after.

The association now has over 1000 members, eight employees, seven honorary board members and countless volunteers. With around 25,000 followers on social media, the Vegan Society Switzerland is the most relevant platform for the vegan lifestyle in the target group of 20 to 39 year olds.
