Vegesack harbor festival
The Vegesack Harbor Festival is a maritime event with a folk festival character in Bremen-Vegesack .
In 1980 Vegesack business people and local innkeepers organized the first Vegesack harbor festival as part of the completion of the then redesigned port area under the motto “All of Vegesack celebrates the harbor festival, join the party” . Since then, the three-day event, for which no admission is charged, has taken place annually on the first weekend in June around the Vegesack harbor .
Over the past few decades, the Vegesacker Harbor Festival has developed into a visitor magnet for guests from all over Bremen and the surrounding area of Lower Saxony . In 2011, around 120,000 guests visited the predominantly gastronomic stands around four stages, on which live music of various styles, such as rock , shanty or Schlager , was presented.
Today's harbor festivals are organized by the “Vegesacker Hafenfest eV” association.
