Venous hypertension

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In medicine, venous hypertension is an increased pressure of the blood in the venous system of the legs. The cause is typically chronic venous insufficiency . The term does not include the increase in central venous pressure , but only that of the peripheral venous system.

The measurement of venous hypertension is primarily carried out directly, as a measurement by puncturing the veins on the back of the foot (with the patient standing).
