Association of Austrian archivists

The Association of Austrian Archivists (VÖA ) is the professional organization for the Austrian archive system. The association was founded in 1967 on the initiative of a group of archivists as a professional association for the promotion of Austrian archiving and its scientific interests as well as the interests of its members.

The association is based in the Vienna City and State Archives .

tasks

The most important tasks include the role of coordinator in the decentralized archive organization in Austria, the organization of conferences, lectures and excursions, the issuing of publications, the participation in professional issues and the promotion of the exchange of information and personal contacts between the members.

The association has published the six-monthly journal Scrinium ( ISSN  1012-0327 ) since 1969 .
